GPSD GM elect new County Council

On January 24, 2026, at the Green Party of San Diego County General Membership meeting, the General Membership elected a new County Council.

Meet our 2026 GPSD County Council Members:

David Morrison has been a member of the California Green Party since 2000, when he joined to support Ralph Nader’s candidacy for president. He is a longtime member of the San Diego County Council and the California General Assembly. David is a semi-retired software developer who enjoys volleyball, kayaking, and yoga. His first foray into electoral politics was walking precincts for George McGovern. David says “The Green Party is my natural home. I’m a believer in the Ten Key Values and the Four Pillars. Corporations are not People and Money is not Speech.”

Emily Moore is a lifelong bleeding heart. In college, she studied philosophy, politics, morality, and law. She has worked in every industry from restaurants, retail, caretaking, to technology, and through those experiences, she has come to realize that the people who hold our world together are not fairly represented in making decisions for that same world. She believes that a better world is possible, and the Green Party is just one place where we can come together across all identities to build political power and usher in a new era where people, planet, and peace are finally prioritized.

Aleyda Martinez is a Mexican-American Muslim mother of two who is passionate about justice and freedom for ALL. The genocide in Palestine reinforced her desire to do something about it as she realized she could not afford to do nothing. She understands that the most effective way to enact any change is to get involved locally in hope that we can alleviate any further pain and suffering that our tax dollars are inflicting. She currently is volunteering for Butch Ware’s campaign and working full time as a housekeeper.

Clint Mally works in behavioral health and brings his passion and expertise at creating engaging and informative content to local organizing. He joined the Green Party to help build a people-powered alternative to the corporate duopoly. In his free time, you can find him in the ocean, reading a good book, or eating at his favorite vegan restaurants around San Diego.

Chris Collins is a lifelong Southern Californian who has spent six decades witnessing the evolution of our coastal communities. Now 62 and settled in San Diego, his perspective is shaped by deep local roots and a sincere desire to be a meaningful ally in today’s Green movement. He recognizes that the California he grew up in looks very different from the one we are navigating now and believes that his role is to listen more than to speak—learning from the activists who are tirelessly driving change for a more equitable and inclusive future. He’s committed to using his voice and history to support a San Diego that is sustainable, just, and welcoming for everyone.

David Clifford is an attorney who works with Tribes and Tribal organizations. He joined the Green Party because one of its core beliefs is democracy itself, and the Two Parties have consistently shown that they value the whims of their donors and their own power over democracy.

Anna Bayou is a second generation Ethiopian-American who joined the Green Party recently. She believes that a better world for all oppressed people is possible. The current system is working as intended for the billionaire class and not for the people. Anna believes that coming together as a collective is the best way to change the system that does not work for us.

Sabina Ali is a PhD candidate studying religion, race, and settler colonialism. One of the reasons she joined the Green Party is because, as the saying goes, “who funds you, runs you,” and the Green Party does not take corporate or PAC money, remaining independent and accountable to the people.
