Berkeley’s plan of action to reduce greenhouse gases. Goal is 80% reduction by 2050. Plans include free bus passes, a car-share vehicle on every block, and help to finance solar panels for homes. Other encouraged individual steps include installing high efficiency appliances, solar powered water-heaters, and more insulation. Changes in activities are encouraged, such as walking to work, using cloth shopping bags, buying locally grown produce, shutting off unused appliances, and reducing use of non-recyclable packaging.
